By Constance Weygandt I have been reading a lot lately on the subject of anthrocyanins. Anthrocyanin is a pigment found in many fruits and vegetables but especially in berries. Studies have been done on a variety of berries to discover the possible health benefits as dietary antioxidants. Blueberries have been thought to have the highest amount of antioxidants. Antioxidants are known for their ability to fight free radicals which do damage to our bodies. Many scientists regard this damage as a factor in aging. Blueberries are also thought to be helpful in lowering cholesterol, slowing aging, improving eyesight, reducing inflammation, fighting cancer and urinary tract infections and protecting neurons from memory loss. Blackberries and boysenberries are also known to have high levels of anthrocyanin. Research from the current issue of the journal Nutrition and Cancer has led scientists to believe that blackberries could be a powerful new tool in the fight against cancer. Strawberries are also thought to be helpful in fighting cancer although lower in antioxidants. Research also shows that the anthrocyanins found in elderberries enhances immune function and may be beneficial in deterring some strains of the flu. So, what do these studies mean for us? All of the studies agreed that berries are high in antioxidants and fiber. Different studies on different berries resulted in conclusions that held a variety of beneficial properties. An added bonus is that berries are high in fiber and low in calories. One half cup of berries is less than 40 calories. It seems that one serving of berries a day would be a delicious addition to a nutritionally balanced diet plan. Good Eating! Low Interest Rate Auto Loans - How to Get Approved

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder Getting approved for a low interest rate auto loan may be either difficult or simple. Individuals with perfect or good credit qualify for advertised low rates. If you have a few credit blemishes, you can expect to pay a higher percentage rate. Savvy car buyers must be willing to shop around for a good deal. This results in a lower interest rate, which means lower monthly payments. Know Your Credit Score Before entering a car dealership, car buyers should know their credit score. In determining interest rates, credit scores carry a lot of weight. This number is the key factor in deciding whether you are approved for a car loan. Credit scores also determine the interest rate you are given. If your score is so-so, you may be able to negotiate a reasonable rate. If your score is lower than 600, you are considered a high risk applicant. To obtain a car loan, you must receive financing from an auto loan lender that specializes in bad credit loans. These loans have high fees and high interest rates. To avoid paying high rates, strive to fix credit problems before applying for a car loan. This may include paying bills on time and reducing your debt. Furthermore, contact creditors and credit bureaus to resolve credit report errors. One negative credit remark may justify a higher rate. After six months of regular payments, your score will likely improve, thus qualifying you for a low interest rate auto loan. Get Pre-Approved for an Auto Loan Getting pre-approved for an auto loan is beneficial because you are able to compare the dealerships financing rate with other lenders. It is recommended that you compare rates and fees from at least three lenders before making a decision. Pre-approvals are quick and convenient. Simply complete an online application with an auto loan broker or lender. Within 24 hours of submitting an application, you will be contacted with an offer from the lender. If using an auto loan broker, you will receive multiple offers from several lenders. Compare rates and choose the lender that offers the best financing package. The Top 5 Most Affordable Marketing Strategies for Small Businesses

Friday, December 28th, 2007

By Peter Geisheker A question that keeps countless small business owners awake at night is, “How do I attract customers and grow my business when I have little or no money for marketing?” Here are 5 low cost “Guerrilla Marketing” strategies you can use to grow your business: 1. Create a revenue sharing partnership with a business that sells a non-competing product to your target market. The way to structure this partnership is that your partner includes information about your product or service in their marketing materials and in exchange you give them a commission on each sale. 2. Join a local and/or national barter exchange network and trade your products or services for advertising services such as radio or print advertising. 3. Write and distribute a news release telling the media about your business news. You can announce a new product or service, a unique way of doing business, a company anniversary, new employees you have hired, a new office location, etc. 4. If you have a website, you can inexpensively drive very targeted customers to your website using the Google Adwords pay per click search engine marketing service. Depending on the keywords you choose, this service can cost as little as five cents to send a prospective buyer to your website. This marketing tool works wonders when you have a well written sales message on your website. 5. Create step-by-step sales scripts to help you and your sales force make powerful presentations and close more sales. Create several responses to each objection you routinely hear from prospective customers and memorize those responses. The more confident you sound when talking to prospective customers, the more those customers will trust you and have faith in your ability to help them. You must also create and memorize several closes so when you are talking to a client, you know how to confidently ask for the sale. The Economist Assaults Jerusalem

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

By David Ben-Ariel “The last conquest of Jerusalem” by the Economist magazine predicts “Israel’s plans for Jerusalem will create a large Jewish city but will have harsh consequences for the Palestinians….” Doesn’t the Economist know that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel? Doesn’t the Economist know that Israel is the Jewish homeland? Doesn’t it stand to reason, then, that the capital of the Jewish homeland should be a large Jewish city? And is the Economist so uninformed they didn’t realize that the resident Arabs’ standard of living has been raised with the restoration of Jewish rule over the Jews’ ancient capital Jerusalem, as well as throughout the Holy Land? Any “harsh consequences for the Palestinians” are of their own making. It is unbelievable but true that the Israelis didn’t evict their sworn enemies from Jerusalem when they liberated Judaism’s holiest city during the Six Day War in 1967. A related Economist article about Jerusalem’s holy places - “the heart of holy war” - refers to the “Old City and its holy sites, the stumbling-block of countless peace negotiations, will be put finally out of bounds to all but the couple of hundred thousand Palestinians living in Jerusalem, and the lucky few others who can get visiting permits. Moreover, the wall is just one part of a gradual and complex process of Israeli takeover.” Interesting, and most ironic, that the Economist should use such biblical language to describe Jerusalem as a “stumbling block,” when they’re falling for the big lie of the “Palestinians” and promoting their divisive agenda to tear the heart of Jerusalem in two, that plays right into the hands of the German-Jesuit EU that has its evil eye upon the Temple Mount. Zechariah 12:2-3 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. 3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.” Has The Economist foolishly joined with the dark forces drunk on the delusion that Jerusalem should become “an international city,” stripped of Israeli sovereignty, aiding and abetting those who plot a gradual and deceitful process of foreign takeover? Is the Economist so ignorant of both the Bible and history that they fail to recognize Jerusalem and Israel were already taken over by squatters; that those with illegitimate claims to the Promised Land of Israel (not Ishmael) have coveted the Jewish homeland with an insane jealousy, and that the Jews have only just begun the liberation of the Holy Land? (Notwithstanding the valley of the shadow of death Israel has descended into, misled by treacherous leaders who have sold out to foreign interests, paving the way for EU occupation before the process of redemption is fulfilled). Israel is to be blamed for not immediately expelling their sworn enemies who forfeited any rights they might have had to remain in the land when they engaged in wars of genocide against the Jews. As a harsh consequence of such sinful inaction, such woeful neglect and dereliction of politico-religious duty, every major Arab group and organization within Israel brazenly continues to call for the destruction of Israel; they remain a constant source of friction (Numbers 33:55-56), the prophesied pricks in Israel’s side and represent thorny issues that won’t simply go away — but must, with decisive Jewish leadership, be sent away, as former Israeli Parliament Member and rabbi, Meir Kahane, with great foresight and wisdom called for, saying: “They must go!” Israel, as a result of an ever growing debt of national sin (Dan. 9:11), suffers the curse of wicked leaders like Ariel Sharon and Shimon Peres and now Ehud Olmert with the corrupt Kadima, kapos of compromise, who would rather evict Jews from their homes than drive out Nazi-Muslims! Israel’s surrendered “land for peace” and yet the Israelis find themselves with a lot less land and not an inch closer to peace, and they still follow the failed formula, insanely expecting different results, trusting the leopard will somehow change its spots. The last conquest of Jerusalem is near. Watch for the Vatican and its useful idiots, its puppet politicians and unholy religious leaders, become an international chorus of discontent, demanding the enforcement of UN Resolution 181 as the final solution for Jerusalem. All of this was foretold. Jerusalem will suffer a brutal betrayal and foreign occupation that carves up the heart of Israel and pollutes the Temple Mount. Zechariah 14:1-4 1 Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, And your spoil will be divided in your midst. 2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, The houses rifled, And the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then the LORD will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle. 4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south. Psalm 118:26 26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! The good news is that the prophesied Gentile occupation of Jerusalem will only last for 3 1/2 years before help from on High, the Son of Man, is sent to liberate Jerusalem from its last conquest, shaking up the New World Order and leaving it in rubble, establishing in its place the legitimate Kingdom of God-Beings. Christians Drinking Alcohol? What Scripture Has To Say

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

By Michael Tummillo Tea-totalling Texans? Them’s fightin’ words! I live in a small Texas town which is probably not all that different from a small town anywhere else. Lately, much has been reported by the local media and debated at city council meetings regarding liquor licensing. When ever these types of issues are discussed, some self-appointed Christian representatives will speak up, supposedly on behalf of all the rest of us, and heatedly expound upon the awful vice of drinking alcohol and what a demon-magnet that can be. I recently said to a young lady who told me she couldn’t go anywhere where drinking took place, “You’d better leave the state of Texas…and stop attending professional baseball games while you’re at it.” I may as well have said, “Mother Teresa, you’d better leave Calcutta! There are lepers all over the place!” If the light of the world (you and me, according to Jesus) leaves the darkness, the darkness remains dark. My question to Christians everywhere, whenever we’re confronted with a “sinful” act or attitude that we don’t appreciate, is this: “When is the right time for casting that stone?” The truth hurts. But KNOWING it will set us free. Several years ago, a downcast young lady approached me, asking if I’d officiate her wedding. It seems that she and her mate - apparently her husband - let it leak that they’d never had a traditional wedding and had been cohabitating for about 2 years. They had a nice home, all debts were combined, and they held good jobs. In their eyes, they were married and moving along as a couple, facing the business of life. One night, the couple received a surprise visit from their church leaders, were reprimanded and told they should stop “shacking up.” Now, before we go any further, I’m not condoning that couples should live with each other outside of wedlock, nor am I condemning those who do. It is NOT recommended because, statistically, those who DO live together before marriage have a much higher incidence of divorce (let’s forget the fact that 50% of all Christian marriages are ending in divorce anyway AND that, in anonymous surveys, nearly 50% of Christians admit to having had premarital sex). Question for these church leaders: Before we point another accusing finger at a Christian couple, can we talk about YOUR sins? Doubt, unbelief, overeating, rage, criticism, gossip, plus the fact that nearly half of all ministers surveyed admit to viewing porn regularly not to mention substance abuses and adultery…all are equal in the eyes of God and required the sending of His only begotten Son to become our Savior. Incidentally, I agreed to take this couple through 6 weeks of pre-marital counseling and officiated their lovely wedding. Later, they had a baby together. They have since moved on to become part of a different congregation. You see, we can cast stones at those who drink alcohol - or those who do anything else that “WE” might consider to be wrong - all we want to. Who will be brow-beating us as we stuff our chubby cheeks? Who will judge us using the same measure with which they are judged themselves? The standard is Jesus, friends. Not the unholy trinity of Me, Myself and I. What the Good Book says I contend that we should funnel everything through Scripture, preferably, through the teachings of Christ, allowing the many verses on a particular subject to define the one proof text, not requiring the one proof text to trump the many. Personally, I can’t help but believe that all the oats, hops, barley and other grains used to produce alcohol could be put to better use feeding the hungry of planet earth. I wish it were. Maybe that will take place on the day that all swords will be beaten into plow sheers. Speaking of beatings, when we focus upon wine, the fruit of the vine takes a severe thrashing itself within Christian circles, everyone trying to justify their viewpoint. In the Old Testament, God’s Law allowed yayin (wine) and shekar (strong drink) to be purchased with the Tithe of Rejoicing and to be drunk before the Lord. “You shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or strong drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household,” (Deut. 14:26). In the New Testament, all recorded prohibitions to drinking wine seem to refer to either (A) immoderate consumption or (B) to abusers: “Be not drunk with wine” (Eph. 5:18). “Do not be with heavy drinkers” (Prov. 23:20). “Do not be addicted to wine” (I Tim. 3:8; Tit.2:3). “Do not linger long over wine” (Prov. 23:30). Some say, “But we love the sinners and hate the sin.” Sadly, even when this is true, it doesn’t come across that way and, after all, perception is reality. Besides, where is it written that drinking is a sin? Now, I haven’t had a beer since I was 19 when I drank six straight after working at a construction site in El Paso. Wine? My Italian family sipped it often but never to excess and its been about 10 years since I had a glass of Chianti with my spaghetti. Still, I don’t expect my convictions to be anyone else’s. When I’m sick, I don’t care if the Apostle Paul DID instruct Timothy (1 Tim 5:23) to, “Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.” Sorry, Paul, but I’ll take Pepto-Bismal, thank you. That’s my choice. Seriously, when all is said and done, I can’t help but feel that we Christians must distinguish the use of these beverages from their abuse. Sometimes in Scripture, gluttonous eating is paralleled with immoderate drinking of wine (Deut. 21:20; Prov. 23:21). But we can find nowhere in the Bible where eating food is prohibited, thank you, Jesus! At other times in Scripture, sexual perversion is paralleled with drunkenness (Rom 13:13; I Pet 4:3). Yet, if ALL sexual activity were condemned, well…you and I wouldn’t be here. Wealth often becomes a snare to many as well (I Tim. 6:9-11), but the Scriptures do not make a blanket decree against its pursuit (Job 42:10-17). Let’s see a Word of Faith evangelist preach AGAINST the acquisition of money! That will be a cold day in Texas. Bottom line is that each of these factors in life is intended by God to be a blessing for us, when used according to the ways that HE intended. Love one another? Jesus would drink to that! To the surprise of many, it would seem abundantly clear that the Scriptures DO allow for the moderate partaking of alcoholic beverages - wine, beer, bourbon or whiskey. By the way, I’ve had many friends in ministry who hail from England and Germany. I love watching my American Christian friends as they “get their knickers in a twist” when these awesome European Christians visit the states and order a brew with their Tex-Mex or wine with their poultry. The Scriptures pull no punches in commending wine, nor do they reflect any embarrassment when illustrating stories that involve its consumption in Biblical days. Wine is set before the saints as blessing and gladness (Deut 14:26; Ps. 104:14-15), even though it may be, to the immoderate and wicked, a mocker and curse (Prov. 20:1; 23:29). It would seem to me that all the self-righteous finger-pointing we engage ourselves in today does very little in the way of making the non-Christian jealous for what we say we’ve found in Christ, the One who turned the water into wine, His first miracle. Despite all the sincerity of well-meaning Christians regarding this issue, every time we point a finger, there are four more pointed right back at us. These fingers are those of the Spirit in operation - the Spirit of the Pharisees. The Great Commission, set forth by the Greatest Teacher, Jesus Christ, was to go and make disciples. As followers of Christ, are we teaching those who are watching us to condemn and even detest those who are not like us, or are we teaching them to love everybody without condition, planting all the seeds of grace necessary to make our faith attractive enough so that they will want run to Jesus at their own proper moment of harvest? After all, He loves ALL of us, despite the deplorable things we harbor deep within the dark recesses of our hearts. In fact, He loved us to DEATH! Love one another. Every blessing! Tooth-Whitening in a Nutshell

Monday, December 24th, 2007

By Oma Edoja Tooth Whitening To Be or Not to Be? Not satisfied with the color of your teeth? Do not despair. You can literally buy yourself a whiter smile! Though tooth whitening is not a dentally required procedure, it could greatly enhance your self-esteem and improve your appearance. There are several tooth whitening products and techniques currently available. Basically these can be divided into two groups: (a) Dental Office Whitening involves a trip to your dentist. A mold of your teeth and gums is made, filled with peroxide, fitted onto your teeth and gums and left on for one to two hours. Three to four of such visits later and your pearly whites are officially whitened! A more advanced form of this technique is Laser Bleaching. Here concentrated peroxide gel is applied and activated by a special light, usually Argon. This speeds up the whitening process considerably, though it is more expensive. (b) At-Home Whitening is much less expensive and more convenient than Dental Office Whitening but is not as effective. Brush-on gels, strips, or trays with bleaching gels are used. Their peroxide concentration is considerably lower than professional tooth whitening; hence they are not as effective. Also, over-the-counter at-home products may contain alcohol, abrasives or acids, all with unpleasant side effects. Teeth whitening can lighten the color of your teeth several shades, depending on the method chosen. Its effects could last from six months to three years. However, these procedures only work on natural teeth, not dentures, crowns or veneers. Care of whitened teeth includes twice-daily brushing with fluoride toothpaste, cutting down on sugary snacks and drinks, and those which stain the teeth (e.g. tea, red wine, and coffee). You should definitely consider stopping smoking. Also, a visit to your dentist at least once a year is a must. Side effects, though temporary, may include sensitivity to cold, gum discomfort, sore throat and white patches on the gum line. However, these usually clear up within days of completing the treatment. Still want to buy a whiter smile? Why not head straight for your dentists office? She can assess your suitability right away. Your dream of whiter teeth could come true sooner than you think! (c) Oma Edoja 2006 Oma Edoja is a freelance writer who writes on a variety of topics. She is available to write for you! Everything You Need to Know About Piano Moving

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Jason J. Martin Moving can be a very stressful time in a persons life, especially if he or she has not hired appropriate help to move their furniture. Piano moves can be especially stressful, because the mover needs to have special knowledge and skills to safely move the piano. In this article I have outline a few frequently asked questions about piano moving in order to help understand what is involved in moving a piano and prepare you with the information to choose the right mover. At the end of the article, I have listed some questions that you can ask to help you choose your piano mover, as well as the information that you should have ready in order for the mover to be sufficiently prepared for your move. Why do I need to hire a professional piano mover? Many of you may be wondering why you would need to hire a professional piano moving company to move your piano, rather than using the household mover who is moving the rest of the contents of your house. The main reason for hiring a professional piano mover is that many household movers do not have adequate training or equipment to properly move a piano. The average upright piano weighs between 400 and 900 pounds. Grand pianos can weigh between 650 and 1300 pounds. The value of a piano can vary from a few hundred dollars to 500,000 dollars depending on the make, model, age and condition of the piano. The majority of piano moves involve moving the instrument through a tight space such as a small door frame or staircase. In some cases, the piano may need to be dismantled in order to get it out of your house. Using and experienced professional piano mover will drastically minimize the risk of damage to the instrument and to your home. As a piano mover, I have come across many cases where a customer has hired a household piano mover to move their piano and has had to make an emergency call to us because the household mover could not get the piano out of his or her house. In other cases, I have received calls from customers who had hired a non-reliable piano mover because their price was much lower, and had to book an emergency move with us, because that piano mover did not show up to move their piano or call to explain why they were not there. How are pianos moved? When you hire a professional piano mover, you can expect 2-3 people to come to your home equipped with piano skids, moving pads, ramps, slings, and the knowledge of how to move your piano safely. They will use special techniques to maneuver the piano out of your house. When the piano is put on the truck, it will be safely secured to the vehicle in order to avoid damage during transport. In the most difficult moves, 4-6 people may be used. Generally when a piano is moved by someone other than a professional piano mover, this equipment, knowledge and these safety precautions are not employed. While hiring a professional piano mover does not completely eliminate the risk of damage, it will drastically reduce this risk. Furthermore, a good piano mover will assess the situation and inform you if there is a chance of damage before he or she begins the move, and will give you the option of proceeding or not. Are all professional piano movers equal? Unfortunately, as in any trade, each piano moving company varies in their level of quality and experience. Some piano movers are better equipped and more prepared than others and act with more care and integrity than others. The best way to find a good piano mover is to call around to your local piano stores, piano technicians and piano teachers to find out which company they use. Piano stores in particular have a high stake in ensuring that they use reliable, high quality piano movers who have the least risk of damaging their instruments and are properly insured in the event that the unforeseen does happen. Are all piano movers similarly insured? Sadly, the answer to this question is no. There are 3 types of insurance to consider when hiring a piano mover:1. Commercial/automotive insurance: Is the company insured against damage to property and or vehicles?2. Cartage/content insurance: Is the company insured against damage to the piano?3. Workmans Safety Insurance: Is the company insuring its workers against injury? Some piano moving companies are insured for 1 or 2 of these types of insurance, but not all 3. It is the buyers responsibility to make sure that he/she is properly insured, not the moving company. It is a good idea to ask about these 3 types of insurance when you are phoning piano moving companies, and also to ask what amount of insurance your piano will be covered for. A properly insured moving company should provide you with a Bill of lading, which is a legal document stating what is being moved, the names of all parties involved in the move, where the piano is being moved from and to, and the full declared insured value of the instrument. The Bill of lading should also include the moving companys terms of cartage. As a legal document, a proper bill of lading helps to ensure that the piano mover will repair any damages that were incurred during the move (unless a damage waiver was signed). It is also important to note that any damage caused to your piano or your property must be noted on the bill of lading to ensure that you have proper recourse if any action is needed. Why is worker injury important to me? You may be wondering why it is important that you ensure that the piano mover you hire has Workmans Safety Insurance. When you contract a moving company, they are considered your employee for the time that they are working for you. If you hire a moving company that is not covered for Workmans Safety Insurance, you are accepting full liability for any employees who are injured while working for you. Your liability will extend to medical bills, lost wages and possibly civil law suits. A company who is covered for Workmans Safety Insurance will take care of most of these problems for you. Some companies do not pay their required insurance premiums and are therefore not covered for all injury insurance claims. You may ask the company that you are hiring to provide you with an up-to-date workmans safety insurance clearance certificate, in order to ensure that you are properly covered. To be absolutely sure that the moving companys coverage is up to date, you can contact your local Workmans Compensation or Workmans Safety Insurance board to check on the companys status. Does moving the piano affect the sound of my piano? The actual move of the piano does not affect the sound or tuning of a piano. Generally piano tuning is affected by changes in temperature and humidity which cause the wooden and steel parts of your piano to expand and contract. You will probably need to tune your piano a few weeks after moving it, after it acclimatizes to its new location. Other factors that may affect the sound of your piano are the size and acoustics of the room in which the piano is located. Carpet absorbs sound, while hardwood reflects it. Sound reinforces in small spaces, seeming louder, while in large spaces the sound gets lost, seeming quieter. How much does it cost to move a piano? Piano moving is generally billed in one of two ways: 1. The household mover way hourly rate, with a minimum number of hours (usually min. = 3 hours) 2. The professional piano mover way flat rate based on the following factors: a. Type (upright, grand) and size of pianob. Distance being moved c. Difficulty level due to stairs, grass pulls, tight turns etc. d. Time restraints place on the move e. Waiting time that might be incurred. The advantage of a flat rate system is that, barring any unforeseen events, you be able to get an accurate idea of what the move will cost you before the movers arrive at your house and it is often less expensive than the hourly rate. How much notice do I need to give the Piano Mover? The amount of notice needed will depend on when and where you need the piano to be moved. Most piano movers book their deliveries on a first come, first served basis. If it is a high traffic time of year, you may need up to one months notice. In a lower traffic time of year, you may only need one or two day notice. Generally, if you need your piano moved on a specific day, you should book the delivery well in advance to make sure its available to you. Below are listed some recommended questions to ask when you are looking to hire a piano mover: 1. How long have you been moving pianos? 2. Do you have any references? 3. Do you have full-time, trained staff moving pianos for you? 4. How do you charge for moving, and what are your rates? 5. What days of the week do you move pianos, and what is your availability? 6. Are you covered for Commercial/automotive insurance, Cartage/content insurance, and workmans safety insurance? 7. Will you provide me with a copy of your workmans safety insurance clearance certificate? 8. What amount will my piano be insured for during the move? What does this insurance cover? 9. What are your terms of cartage? Will you provide me with a copy? 10. Will I be provided will a bill of lading when my piano is moved? Listed below is the information that you should have prepared when you book your piano move: 1. What type of piano is it that you require to be moved? (Upright or Grand Piano) 2. What size of piano is it? (upright pianos are measured by height [floor to lid] and grand pianos are measured by longest length [keyboard to curve in bow end]) 3. Where is it being picked up from? (Have full address including postal or zip code) 4. Where is it being delivered to? (Have full address including postal or zip code) 5. Are there any stairs that the piano needs to go up or down (inside and outside)? If so, how many? Are they straight, spiraled or curved? Based on what you tell the piano mover, he/she will tell you how many people they believe it will accomplish your move. Missing important details or difficulties, or miss-estimating your move based on the information you have provided could mean that your piano move might not happen that day, and could incur you more charges. 6. When are you looking to have the piano moved? 7. Are there any time restraints involved? (As time-restraints tend to hamper the efficiency of the movers day, placing a time-restraint on the mover could more than double your cost.) 8. Inform the piano mover of any problems that you can foresee ahead of time. The more information you can provide the piano mover, the more accurate your quote will be. If you are vague and provide few details, do not be surprised if you incur extra charges for your move. A good, reputable piano mover will make the process as painless as possible for you and usually be the highlight and most stress-free part of your whole moving process. They key is ensuring that the mover meets all of your requirements and providing them with the information they need to help you properly. Weight Loss and Diet Programs - The Real Skinny on What Works Best!

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Greg Ryan Have you ever wondered with all the weight loss programs offered today, why we are on the verge of a diabetic andobesity epidemic? Have you ever thought that maybe doctorsand gym owners would rather you not know the right way tolose weight? Think about it? If we did, whose pocketwould it hurt? On the other hand, maybe they just are not motivated enough to explain it us? Worse yet, maybe they don’t even know how to help us long term? Twenty years of health club management, fifty thousand hoursof paid personal training sessions and working with some ofthe most famous people in the world tell me; we are focusingon the wrong things. What does it take to stay on an exercise and eating program? The answer may surprise you. It does not have to do with numbers you find on exercise or medical chart. It has to do with types of motivations, reasons, and supports. Sure, New Years Eve comes around and we get motivated. We’veall been there. However, getting motivated is not theproblem, staying motivated is. This has to do withpsychology. Figure out HOW you are motivated and WHERE yourdesires to exercise come from, and then you will have createdsome staying power. Most of us have some unwanted behavior that at some pointin time have sabotaged our quest for better health. Only to find ourselves back in the same situation the next time we getmotivated. What doctors and trainers fail to help peopleunderstand is the reasons WHY? Each unwanted behavior hasan underlying barrier that blocks our success. Until that is uncovered, we will continue to be the fattest nation on earth. There are a few that use this approach and have had some success in keeping their weight off and body fat levels low. However, in the end many will only to be defeated in the long run by alittle thing called pride. My experience has shown me that not asking for support, guidance and accountability is the biggest barrier most people have. So where is the magic? It’s not found in the doctor’s office, nor is it found in the majority of the health clubs across the country. It’s found inside you. Figure out your motives, reasons behind your behaviors and never ever be afraid to ask for help. Do the doctor’s and trainers want you to know? It suredoesn’t look that way. Does it? Alternative Medicine Colleges: Making the Grade

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

By CarolAnn Bailey-Lloyd Find Alternative Medicine Colleges in the United States and Canada. If you are drawn to complementary and alternative medicine, you are not alone. Alternative medicine colleges are growing in demand as “36 percent of U.S. adults aged 18 years and over use some form of complementary and alternative medicine.” [1] Alternative and complementary medicine therapies that are most commonly sought after include acupuncture, chiropractic, herbal medicine, and nutritional [2] therapies. These professions are frequently taught to students in a number of alternative medicine colleges. Before registering in the wide expand of alternative medicine colleges, you should first determine which alternative medicine practice you would like to enter. For example, if you interested in chiropractic, be sure that the selection of alternative medicine colleges in which you choose to enroll offer this course of study. Some alternative medicine colleges provide training in a diverse range of health therapies including education in pathology-specific treatments, such as rheumatoid arthritis. Studies offered through alternative medicine colleges in this area may include diverse curriculums in botanical or herbal medicine, supplements and vitamins, hydrotherapy, mind-body therapies, Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, homeopathy, chiropractic, acupuncture and other massage therapies. Other courses provided through alternative medicine colleges may be designed for the future homeopathic practitioner or professionally certified massage therapist. However, there are so many fields of study from which to choose, the potential to attaining a quality education at one of several alternative medicine colleges is virtually unlimited. Currently, a number of alternative medicine colleges provide undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral and independent career training programs. Students who are interested in naturopathic medicine or holistic medicine can gain a comprehensive education and skills through accredited alternative medicine colleges, as well as other complementary medicine schools. Students seeking certification or diploma programs can frequently achieve these goals at alternative medicine colleges, too. For instance, some alternative medicine colleges specifically provide certification courses in massage, herbal medicine and reflexology. Again, the diverse options in education are quite compelling. Students, who have successfully graduated from one of several alternative medicine colleges, can go onto lucrative and personally rewarding careers that are mutually beneficial in helping patients and clients from all walks of life. If you (or someone you know) are interested in enrolling in one of several alternative medicine colleges to help find your dream job, let education within fast-growing industries like massage therapy, cosmetology, acupuncture, oriental medicine, Reiki, and others get you started!
